Dr Craig French: Director
I have over 20 years of results focused experience. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to have worked on project development and communications for government and parliament, universities, and for private sector consultancies and charities. The focus of the work has consistently been on improvement and relationship-building – creating and developing opportunities for organisations, and also for individuals, to explore and expand in positive and sustainable ways. Crucially for me, the work I have undertaken has made a difference and directly influenced outcomes at a local, national and international level.
I have been published in various formats (covering a range of topics and issues) including: academic journals and reports, popular newsletters and magazines, practical toolkits and supporting guidelines, and government documentation.
Over the last 2 decades, I have achieved two Masters degrees and a PhD through research at Glasgow University, and a Certificate in Coaching Practice from APP. My most recent ‘learning’ challenge is through study for a professional coaching diploma from the Institute of Leadership Management.
I am also PRINCE2 qualified.
As a coach, my philosophy is simple. There is no magic or mystery to effective coaching. If done correctly, it is a straightforward process of working with a client to identify a way forward, maintaining a focus on consistently moving ahead, and creating the self – belief to get them to their destination. It can be challenging certainly, but also incredibly rewarding and fun at the same time. I think the changes it can make are incredible.
I am fortunate to have travelled extensively and I enjoy spending time with family and friends, participating in sports, and embarking on fresh challenges. I am also a keen supporter of UNICEF UK, and a number of other national and international charities.
Ildiko Mazar: Business Partner
My desire for new challenges has never conflicted with my loyalty to my employee and project teams. Integrity and good reputation are two of the most important key indicators of quality in my code of conduct.
Since I graduated as a bioengineer from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2002, I have worked as a Project Manager at the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN), and currently hold the postition of Deputy Secretary General. Since 2011, I also provide consulting services to Mercator. This allows me to capitalise on the experience that I have gained over 15 years of working with EU projects and adopt this expertise to benefit a new range of clients.
My experience involves managing EU project lifecycles from conception of ideas, through proposal writing, executing planned activities, reporting and ensuring sustainability. I have often been tasked with dissemination and community building activities that require good communication- and people skills, but I also enjoy the much less social and often meticulous quantitative analysis work, financial planning and reporting, and quality evaluation of procedures and progresses.
Such complex responsibilities require creativity and spontaneity, an ability to work efficiently in and with international and multi-sectoral teams, and good time management skills. I have always prided myself in excelling in whatever I, or my team, has been charged with, and never lose focus on the core goals and objectives. I frequently negotiate, offer solutions to problems, and serve as a solid mediator to achieve understanding and agreement in challenging scenarios.
